Little something for my mum I picked from Lulu Guinness. The box is too pretty! And another little something for my dad is a clip-shaped cuff rings found at the Conran Tokyo.

今年の両親へのクリスマスプレゼントは、父にはコンランショップで見つけたクリップ型カフス、そして母のはルル・ギネスで選んだ。中学の時はノッティングヒルのお店でひっそりとしていたルル・ギネスは今ではイギリスでもそこら中のデパートに入ってて何だかなあと思っていたが、ヒルズのこじんまりとしたお店に入るとやっぱりわくわくしてしまった。プレゼントはドールハウス型の箱に入れてもらえて更に素敵に！中身はクリスマスまでのお楽しみ：）

SO LONDON! x BRYAN FERRY at LE BON MARCHE, PARIS SEPT 2011

London-themed pop-up store with lots of gentlemen-tricks encountered at my mini graduation trip to Paris. 

卒業旅行も兼ねて訪ねたパリ。ボンマルシェというサンジェルマンにあるデパートでは面白い企画展をよくやっていると聞いたので足を運んでみた。

偶然なことに、８月〜１０月は[SO LONDON!]というテーマで、ブリテンずくしのポップアップストアやロック歌手BRYAN FERRYをテーマにカフェや展示が行われていた。

このポップアップストア！内装がとてもクリエイティヴ！至る所に英国紳士が顔をのぞかせていて、試着室や店内のライトの傘は黒帽子！売ってる物も可愛らしかったけど、店内のデコレーションに目を奪われるばかりであった。

On the way back from Tracey Emin’s exhibition, we were walking along the Thames. Then we noticed that everyone passing by is looking up somewhere. So I follow their eyes and saw the sky painted by Turner.

ブログ更新がかなりご無沙汰になってしまったが、久しぶりにコンスタントに朝から晩まで毎日勉強して夜は週２でヨガに通って、大学生に戻った感じだった。

論文も後は印刷して終わり、これで８年間の英国留学に終止符を打つときがもうすぐそこまで来てる。後一ヶ月、悔いの無いように残りの時間を満喫するには何から始めるべき？

そんな私がロンドンを発つ前にまた是非行っておきたいのは、POLLEN STREET SOCIALというこの春にできたばかりのレストラン。スパニッシュテイストの、モダンヨーロピアンキュイジーヌ。前回初めて行ったときは、ランチブレイクのエリートビジネスマンで賑わっていた。

ここが特に気に入ったのは、味だけではなくサービスも◎なところ。席につくと鍵を渡され、何だろうと思っていると、帰り際にその鍵を使って金庫の様な棚から手みやげが。中にはティーバッグとフィナンシェが、「ありがとう。アフタヌーンティーは私達から」と書かれた添え書きが。最初からお店を出た後まで楽しめる、素敵なレストラン：）

It’s been a month since my last post. I actually had my oxford life back the past few weeks, working on my thesis from day to night, and going to yoga twice a week refreshing my mind and body. It’s already the end of August, seems like eight years of my UK life is coming to an end. What left to do so that I won’t regret anything when I’m back home…hm.

Well, I know that I’d love to go back to Pollen Street Social. They have a cheeky trick for making their customers wanting to go back there. The food is great, it’s a modern european cuisine with a spanish twist. But you also get a key on the entrance, which you will have found out at the end that it’s a key to the safety box where your little souvenir is being kept. In the souvenir bag, it’s got a tea bag and two mini financier. It’s such a lovely thought, quite Japanese-like to be honest : ) Well, I’m definitely writing the place down on my to-do list.

仕事上がりのビジネスマンで賑わうルーフトップバー：AQUA SPIRIT

だんだんと暖かくなってくるロンドンと共に賑わってくるのは、ルーフトップバー。

ロンドン中心部、オックスフォードサーカス駅から徒歩一分という好立地にあるAQUA SPIRITもそのひとつ。エレベーターで５階に行くと、AQUA KYOTOというモダンジャパニーズクイジーン、AQUA NUEVAというスパニッシュ、そしてAQUA SPIRITというバーの３つが同じ場所にある。ルーフトップバーは広い所や狭めの所など、フロアの中に数カ所あり、どこからもロンドンの景色を一望出来る。

ここでの私のオススメは：AQUA BREEZE (アクア・ブリーズ）というカクテル。ジンをベースに、ミントジュース、アップルジュース、ライム、緑茶シロップなどが入っている甘いカクテルである。シェーカーに入ったまま出て来て、お値段は£19.50（2500円）。４杯分は入っているので、少しお高いバーでも始めの一杯として友人とシェアするには最適。

It’s this time of the year again: ROOFTOP BAR @ Aqua Spirit

Just a minute walk form oxford circus station, Aqua Spirit is found on the 5th floor together with Aqua Kyoto (Modern Japanese Cuisine), and Aqua Nueva (Spanish Cuisine). There are a few rooftop bars on different sides of the floor where you can enjoy the London view and some nice drinks after work.

Aqua Breeze is what I tried the other day. It’s a gin-based sweet cocktail mixed with mint juice, apple juice, lime, and green tea syrup. It is served with a shaker which is enough for 4 glasses. For 19.50 only, think it’s a great way to start your evening with some friends.
